Bernese and Pyrenean Mountain Dog Breeders, Latvia

Unfortunately, similar to other large breeds, Bernese are prone to certain health conditions. In particular you should be aware of any health conditions that can be carried to puppy from its parents and grandparents, such as, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, cancer and any problematic behaviour.
While puppy is still growing it is important not to overwhelm him with exercise, but ensure light and regular walks. This, as well as, healthy diet and not over feeding your puppy can help to avoid hip and elbow dysplasia.
Bernese Mountain dog was a love of first sight for us. We went to a dog show, saw a Bernese and that was it. We approached few of the owners during the show and found somebody who had puppies for sale. We went to the breeder the next day and took our first Bernese, Prada, home. Over 10 years on and our love for the breed has only grown.
Bernese are considered to be a perfect family dog. They are large and cuddly like a teddy bear, don't require excessive amounts of exercise and all they want to do is to please their family. So if you are an active and social person so will they, if you love to sit on the sofa and watch TV all day then so will they.
